The first adventure you will hear is a true one! During WWII after England had declared war on Germany, Londoners lived in daily fear of bombings as they went about their business. This is a "sound-seeing tour" of London one evening presented by the BBC and CBS Radio.

Next up is the third installment of "Temple of Vampires."

This week I begin a 20 part serial of Carlton E. Morse's Temple of Vampires. Morse was one of radio's most prolific writers and a good storyteller to boot. I'll play the first two episodes this week, then include one each week along with other adventures.

In 1963, Alfred Hitchcock produced a film called "The Birds" based on the Daphne du Maurier short story. Ten years earlier, a radio version closer to the original story was broadcast over Lux Radio Theatre. This week, our adventure takes us to a town in which it appears the birds are taking their revenge on humans.

The hour between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM was sometimes called the Children's Hour because of its weekday programs dedicated to the kid's serials. This week: Captain Midnight and Little Orphan Annie.

This week we look at the series NBC called "tales of High Adventure." In the early 1950's they produced a series that was very similar to the CBS serial Escape in theme. They called it High Adventure. Many of the episodes weren't bad, just too late to save dramatic radio.

A classic series about the fox and the hound, the hunter and hunted. NBC presents the adventure serial, The Chase. I look at this rather good adventure drama from the early 1950's.
